British playwright Nick Payne burst into the theatre scene of his native land in 2009, with the drama, If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet. The play is about a completely average family, with parents who fantasise about saving the world but are at a loss with the problems of their teenage daughter. Bullied by her classmates because of her look, she feels more and more helpless and unhappy. An uncle appears every now and then, whose take on life is different and might even be able to help the family, but he is so obsessed with his own unsolvable problems that he unwittingly aggravates the chaos around him. Everyone’s in trouble, and they’re looking for a place in the world more and more desperately.
Nick Payne’s play is equally amusing and desperate, delightfully witty and deeply thought-provoking.

Theatre performance in Hungarian.
