Textile designer applied artists’ exhibition

Initiated by Ferenczy Noémi Prize-winning textile designer Szilvia Szigeti (Eventuell Gallery), the project allows almost twenty applied artists engaging in textile design to realize their plans. Made with the collaboration of textile producers – Csárda Tex Kft., Lénárd Zászlókészítő Kft., Meritum Kft., Aste Bútorszövet és Lakástextil, Rovitex Hungária Kft. –, the exhibition seeks to call attention to what was once a leading industry, to its designers, and its inherent creative potentials.

The exhibition also features works by two young textile designers each from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) and the Budapest Metropolitan University (BMU). The display will be enriched by productions in the sister arts: the opening will include the premiere of the Rita Góbi Company’s contemporary dance production, Textile – Space – Dance.

The exhibition is on view between 15 and 29 October.
